The Donald Sinta Saxophone Quartet came to perform at Elon University and I was asked to design the concert poster.

The only requirement for this poster was the copy. In terms of imagery, I was given creative freedom. I wanted to play with texture and use the title of the concert as inspiration for the design. The logo and layout were both created using Adobe InDesign. 

Sketching is how I start almost every design project I am given, so I created these six layouts before bringing it into the computer. I think the final has elements taken from each of these individual sketches. It wasn't until I brought it into InDesign and started messing around with fonts and digital illustrations that I came up with the final product.
